How Botox Works in 60 Seconds.

Botox works by temporarily relaxing muscles that cause expression lines. By reducing repetitive movement, the skin is able to smooth and rest, creating a softer, more refreshed appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Botox and fillers painful?

There is some mild discomfort with both procedures. Most patients find it quite tolerable and similar to small pinches. We have multiple types and strengths of both topical and injectable anesthetics we can use as well as multiple other techniques for reducing discomfort. This is one of the benefits of seeing a medical doctor for your treatment - we have a prescription pad and we know how to use it ;)

What is Botox NOT for?

Botox does not:

  • restore lost volume
  • significantly tighten loose skin
  • replace surgical lifting

If Botox isn’t the best option, we may recommend fillers, Sculptra, or Morpheus8.

How long does Botox last?

Botox lasts 3-4 months when appropriate dosing is used. This is the main issue with low dose, or ‘Baby Botox’. It still works, but wears off much faster.

Filler results vary depending on the type of filler used and the degree of movement in the facial area treated. For lips, this is typically 6-12 months and for cheeks and jawline this can be 18-24 months.

How long does Botox take to work?

Botox does not work instantly, so you won’t see results right away. Most clients begin to notice initial softening of lines within 3–4 days after treatment. The full effect gradually develops and typically reaches its peak at around 10–14 days, once the targeted muscles have fully relaxed.

Will I look frozen?

When Botox is administered with a conservative, aesthetic approach, the goal is never to “freeze” the face. Instead, it works to soften dynamic lines caused by expression while preserving natural movement. You should still look like yourself—just more rested, refreshed, and smooth.
